Gardenia lives up to its name — enormous, fully double white blooms with a soft, sweet fragrance that fills a room. This is the classic peony, the one that looks like it belongs in a bridal bouquet. Beautiful on its own in a bud vase and gorgeous anchoring a mixed arrangement.
Each bare root division is field-grown and ready to plant this fall. Peonies establish best when planted in fall, going dormant through winter and coming back with vigor each spring. They only get better with age.

Planting tip: Plant in full sun, well-draining soil, with the eyes (the pink buds) no more than 1 to 2 inches below the soil surface. Too deep and it won't bloom — this is the single most important thing to get right. Water in well and leave it alone for the season.
